How is the recovery after surgery?

In the first few days, there may be swelling and pain, and pain relievers may be needed. During the initial weeks, light movement is recommended, and standing fully upright should be avoided. External stitches will be removed after 5–7 days. Scars may appear dark during the first 3–6 months but will gradually fade within a year.
